Fife Youth Work Partnership

Our Aim

Fife Youth Work Partnership aspires to ensure that Fife is a place where young people aged 10 – 21 years are valued, encouraged and supported to achieve their potential and a place where their achievements are recognised and celebrated.  We want our youth work services to engage and work with communities, and across partnerships to enable all young people to enjoy living, studying and work in Fife.  Youth Work can support young people to participate, develop and grow into confident individuals, successful learners, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

Throughout all our work with young people, we are aiming to ensure that young people enjoy their youth work experience, that they learn new skills and take part in new opportunities with an emphasis on having fun, building friendships and learning together.

The Fife Youth Work Partnership will:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of training to staff from across the partnership to increase confidence, competence and skills.
  • Raise awareness of staff and young people of relevant services and activities including access, signposting and referral pathways.
  • Work together to ensure educational programmes reflect relevant experiences and outcomes within Curriculum for Excellence and that resources are accessible and available for all.
  • Work with young people in the design and delivery of locally based accessible services
  • Support young people to feel safe and engage with them to identify areas of concern and work to address these issues together.
  • Identify appropriate youth diversionary programmes to tackle anti-social behaviour and repeat offending and deliver there programmes to target groups.
  • Empower young people to make informed choices and decisions by improving their self esteem and confidence.
  • Ensure young people are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all youth work opportunities use a youth work approach that is fun, positive and enjoyable.
