Free advice on using digital technology

digital championDigital Fife has partnered with national charity Digital Unite to provide a range of free guides on using digital technology.

Digital Unite has developed around 300 free easy-to-follow guides covering a wide range of topics, from mastering the computer basics to using Skype and email to internet security and shopping online.

The guides are available on which provides a hub for community groups in Fife to get access to training and resources to help them get online. The online community also gives groups a place to network and build relationships and promote their activities through a weekly diary and Enewsletters. The site also contains a lot of useful information for anyone wanting to improve their IT skills.

Sheena Watson, Project Manager said, “The online guides are a great addition to the resources on www.digitalfife.com. We want to help as many people as possible to get online and feel confident in using digital technology which can sometimes seem a bit daunting. The guides are easy to follow and they are suitable whether you are a complete beginner or are already have some experience of using digital technology.”

There are guides available for computer basics, creating documents, digital photography, email and skype, hobbies and interests, internet security, music and audio, internet shopping, smartphones and tablets, social networking and blogs, TV and video and using the internet.
