Dunfermline Local Planning Group

The group meets every 6-8 weeks and brings together organisations in Dunfermline to plan and deliver a programme of community based adult learning opportunities. Partners include: Community Learning including Adult Basic Education and English for Speakers of other Languages, Community Use Schools, Fife College, Beanstalk Nursery, Family and Community Support Service, Homestart, Fife Voluntary Action, Museum and Libraries Trust, Early Years Team and the Client Action Team.

The partnership has a budget to support learning programmes and to deliver in partnership.

Key tasks for the Local Planning Group are:

  • To have a good knowledge of local needs in the area
  • To develop provision in an integrated way which meets identified needs in the community and makes best use of partnership resources
  • To provide information on and guidance on learning opportunities in the area
  • To develop an Action Plan identifying key priorities and Improvement areas based around the 6 Adult Learning outcomes in the CLD Strategy
  • To ensure all programmes are planned and evaluated in line with LEAP processes and that this is a permanent item in LPG meetings
  • To carry out a partnership evaluation at least once per year
  • To ensure mechanisms are in place to gather learner feedback on programmes and that results and actions are fed back to learners
  • To work in partnership to provide progression routes for learners to continue their learning, improve their employability or enter employment
  • To promote the impacts of the work of partners through contributions to the twice yearly Progress Report, through regular success story features on websites, FISH and the local press and through celebrating success events
